The Gourmet Markets of Lauzerte: My tips for your summer evenings in 2026
If there is one experience not to be missed during your stay at the Las Razes estate, it is the gourmet market of Lauzerte.
Every Thursday evening in July and August, the Place des Cornières transforms into a giant open-air table. Here's everything you need to know to enjoy these moments like a true regular.
The concept: from producer to your plate
Unlike a traditional market, you don't come here to fill your basket for the week, but to create your own dinner on the spot. The concept: You stroll among the stalls of local producers, choose your starter from one, your main course from another (duck confit, aligot, grilled meats, Quercy melons), and your dessert from a third. The setting: Dinner in the heart of one of the "Most Beautiful Villages of France," under medieval arcades, with the sunset setting the white stone ablaze.
The atmosphere: Friendly and musical
The gourmet market is the soul of the Southwest. We settle down at large communal tables, chat with our table neighbors, all to the rhythm of a local band. It's the perfect opportunity to soak up the laid-back lifestyle of our region.
To ensure your evening is perfect, here are our local tips:
Plan ahead: The market starts around 7 pm. To get a seat in the central square, we recommend arriving early. The perfect gourmet kit: It's a local tradition! Remember to bring your own cutlery, plates, and glasses. It's more eco-friendly and much more practical (although disposable kits are sometimes sold on site). Parking: Spaces at the top of the town are scarce on festival nights. Park in the Faubourg parking lots and enjoy the short walk uphill to admire the view.
Practical Information
When: Every Thursday evening, from July 9 to August 27, 2026. Where: Place des Cornières, Lauzerte (only 10 minutes from the estate).
Budget: Bring cash, as not all producers accept credit cards.
Come and recharge your batteries in Las Razes, you will appreciate the absolute calm of my gîte and enjoy this event on Thursday during the Gourmet Market.
